Instruction: Windows - Firefox

Preparations

To use SuisseID with Firefox, please ensure the following: 

  • SuisseID is connected to your computer

  • The SuisseID software is installed on your computer

  • The one-off initialisation of your SuisseID has been successfully carried out 

Important:
If Firefox was installed after the installation of the SuisseID software, please install the SuisseID software again so that Mozilla Firefox recognises SuisseID.

SuisseID login with Mozilla Firefox available

If the above requirements are met, you can use SuisseID with Firefox immediately and without any further configuration. To verify this using Firefox, click on the following link Check SuisseID.

Important:
To use your SuisseID you need only your personal PIN. On account of the different dialogs in applications, a request for your PIN may say "master password", for example. Never use a different password than your personal PIN. If you enter this incorrectly 3 times, your SuisseID will be blocked and can only be unblocked with the PUK.
SuisseID login without Mozilla Firefox available

Download Firefox using another internet browser and install this on your computer. (Download Mozilla Firefox) 

Install the SuisseID software again so that your SuisseID can be used in Firefox. To verify this using Firefox, click on the following link Check SuisseID.

For experienced Firefox users

If you have installed the SuisseID software before installing Firefox, you can add the security device manually.

Start Firefox.

Click on Options then on "Advanced" and then on the "Encryption" tab.

Select Security Devices.

Click on Load.

Under Module Name enter SuisseID and click to select "cvP11.dll" C:\Windows\System32.

Now SuisseID should appear on the left side.
